Thank you for your mail. In accordance with the recommendations of the Committee as approved by the Hon’ble Supreme Court, it would be appropriate for further selections to be made by a 3 member selection Committee. You may therefore prune the selection committee accordingly to the 3 selectors with Test experience.

Supreme Court Committee on Reforms in Cricket 
I am an advocate and also an ardent of cricket. I am highly impressed by the recent reforms taking place in BCCI. One of the biggest and best reforms is to prescribe the age of the managing committee members (70 years) as also the fact that nobody can hold a position for two terms consecutively.
I wish to bring to your notice that the present commentators like Sunil Gavaskar, Sanjay Manjrekar, Ravi Shastri, Harsha Bhogle, etc have been commentating for several decades. It is not as if there are no other commentators who could do a decent job. The selectors, players, administrators, etc all have terms, however, the same commentators continue to commentate every series.
Kindly make suitable changes and bring some fresh blood by bringing new commentators.

Can’t apply Lodha rules on our own: MPCA to HC

INDORE: The Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association (MPCA) has moved a petition before the high court, stating that the recommendations by the Lodha committee which have been accepted by the apex court cannot be directly implemented by them, as the recommendations are primarily applicable to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
The review petition was heard on Tuesday by Justice SC Sharma, who granted one week to Liladhar Paliwal, and five other lifetime members of the state’s cricket association, who are the respondents to the petition, to file their preliminary objections to the petition.
In the final order of the writ petition, which was passed on February 9, 2017, the court had issued instructions to the MPCA to implement the Lodha committee’s recommendations and hold elections (of the state association) accordingly.
“We have stated in the review petition that it is impossible to directly implement the Lodha committee recommendations accepted by the apex court as they primarily apply to the BCCI and some part of these recommendations will later percolate down to the state associations for implementation through the BCCI,” advocate Ajay Bagadia representing MPCA said.
In the previous writ petition, the petitioners had prayer for directions to be issued by the high court to MPCA regarding implementation of the recommendations. The review petition filed on Tuesday claimed that since the Supreme Court has already constituted a committee to oversee the implementation of these recommendations, the relief prayer for in the writ petition filed at high court was no longer valid.
In this review petition, the MPCA has sought that the previous writ petition’s final order must be modified so as to declare the writ petition infructuous and place on record that any implementation of the Lodha committee recommendations at the MPCA be done through the BCCI only.

State associations to file compliance report by Mar 1

Kolkata, Feb 23 (PTI) The Supreme Court-appointed Committee of Administrators has asked the state cricket associations to submit the confirmation of compliance report of the Lodha Committee directives by March 1.
The four-member Committee of Administrators of the BCCI in a letter to all the state associations has stated that they would proceed on a “strict understanding and interpretation” of the Lodha Committee reforms like the age cap of 70 years, and nine-year incumbent period among others.
“You are also called upon to obtain undertakings from your current office bearers and members to the effect that they are not disqualified in terms of the criteria and forward copies of the same to the Committee of Administrators. This should be done latest by 5 pm on March 1, 2017,” the COA stated in a communication to all the state associations, including the Cricket Association of Bengal.
It further laid down measures of good governance and transparency like mentioning the names of the constituent members in its website in the letter, a copy of which is with PTI.
“The names of your current office bearers along with their age, date on which they assumed office and/or became a member of your Governing Body/Managing Committee/Working Committee and the total number of years for which they have been an office-bearer.”
It also asked for the compliance of the Supreme Court orders on October 7 and 21 last year in which it directed that the BCCI shall forthwith cease and desist from making any disbursement of funds for any purpose whatsoever to any State Association until and unless they adopt a resolution undertaking to implement the Lodha Committee reforms.
“After such a resolution is passed and before any disbursement of funds takes place to the State Association concerned, a copy of the resolution shall be filed before the Lodha Committee and before the Supreme Court together with an affidavit of the President of the State Association undertaking to abide by the reforms,” the letter said.
“You’re called upon to confirm whether you have completed the compliances. In the event you have done so, you are called upon to forward copies of the resolution(s) and affidavit(s),” it directed with theMarch 1 deadline.
